RESPONSIBILITIES
Education:
To educate themselves on the liturgical life of the Church through reading, audio-visuals, discussions, workshops and seminars.
To select, train, and schedule all liturgical ministers (Ministers of Communion, Proclaimers and Commentators, Ushers, Greeters, Altar Servers, Music Ministers, Sacristans
To have on-going education on the liturgy for the parish community
Planning and Coordination: for all Liturgical Celebrations
In the spirit of Vatican II’s directive of full, active and conscious participation within the liturgy:
Plan weekly and seasonal celebrations of Sunday Eucharist so that readings, homilies, music, décor/environment and petitions are coordinated
Coordinate sacramental rites within the liturgy
Prepare a budget for the liturgical and spiritual needs of the parish
Plan a yearly calendar for the commission
Evaluation: For on-going Development of Programs and Activities
To determine the liturgical needs of the community
To set goals and evaluate weekly and seasonal Eucharists of the parish including sacramental rites which take place during the liturgy
Community Involvement: For Greater Participation
To recognize and use the gifts and talents of parishioners in liturgical functions
To develop committees to respond to specific needs
To invite honest feedback from the community
The members of this commission are:
The pastor/parish life coordinator or parish pastoral team member
Appointed members of the Pastoral Council
Chairperson of each liturgical ministry
Parishioners with an interest in the area of liturgy

Ministers of Communion at Mass and Homebound, also Hospitals and Nursing Homes
Prayer Groups & First Friday Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Proclaimers and Commentators

Music Ministers (Choir/Musicians/Cantors)
Ushers and Greeters
