Goal: Baptismal Preparation is designed to educate parents in the Sacrament of Baptism in hopes that the celebration of their child’s baptism will be a more meaningful experience.
A Baptism Preparation class is every 3 to 4 months. This class provides detailed information regarding this first Blessed Sacrament and the responsibilities of the parents and godparents. It reminds parents about their role and responsibility as teachers of the faith to their child. In some cases, our ministry serves as the first step back to the church for young people who may have not remained active until the birth of a child.
Baptisms are usually celebrated during a mass.
Activities: The Baptismal Preparation team helps with the classes, with the preparation before the baptism, with the baptism, and with follow-up parental contacts.
